Location: Noble & Cooley Mill Pond Granville, MA

The site is just off Route 189 south of Granville center at 42 Water Street. The harvest will occur continuously from 12:00 noon to 3:00 P.M. This is the 9th annual harvest at Noble & Cooley. Dennis Picard, from Storrowtown Village, will direct the harvest and talk about commercial ice harvesting in the area as well as cutting ice by individual farmers. Hot Drinks will be available, and a film on the ice industry will be shown in the museum.

If the ice is thick enough, visitors will be invited to try their hand at cutting and hauling ice. In addition, the big workhorses from the farm at Blue Star Equiculture in Palmer, MA will be on display. The farm is a rescue and training center for working horses.

Bundle up and bring the family for an afternoon in hill country, and be sure to check out the Granville country store as well. For ice conditions, call Bob Stewart at 860 668-2928 or cell 860 729-6429.
